Bar Losses!!!!

Dear Members,

We are having a few issues with the bar area that I would like to bring to your attention. These are not new issues but we really need to properly get a grip of them.

The main one is 'lost' stock. Richard Green does a great job with the SumUp and pain staking stock take each month to compile figures and a comprehensive spreadsheet, accurately accounting for the bar stock. Whether people are innocently forgetting to pay, or there is something more sinister going on, this month £84.50 worth of stock cannot be accounted for.

This is made up of 21 chocolate bars / crisps, 16 cans / bottles of beer, 9 cans of soft drinks, 2 bottles of Lucozade, and 2 racket grips.

March's loss was £50.50 (42 items) February £24.00 (23 items) January £48.00 (38 items)

Nothing should be taken from the bar without paying for it, and if there are any comments to how these losses may be being incurred, and suggestions for how we may tackle the problem I would be very grateful to hear from you.

If we can all be extra vigilant when taking items from the bar, ensuring that transactions are going through on the SumUp machine at the point of purchase and not taken to be paid for at a later date. If there are any issues with payment and we need to have a system for recording 'owed' amounts, again, I am happy to consider this, but it would not be a preferred course of action.

Additional housekeeping items - boring I know, but very important to the running of the bar and as members who use the bar we all have a responsibility to help out.

- Tidy up after yourself. Empty cans and bottles into the crates just inside the outer bar door. If you need a glass for water, do not leave it outside the court, on the table or strategically placed elsewhere about the building. Please take it back to the bar, wash it up, dry it up, and place it back on the shelf from whence it came.

- Re-stock - there is not a magic bar fairy who kindly restocks the fridges. When you take something from the bar, please can we ask that you restock from the items under the bar.

I also need to remind members of the bar operation times for alcohol. Alcohol can only be purchased between the hours of 11am to 10pm. Outside of this time contravenes the licence, with Richard Green has personally taken responsibility for on behalf of the club – so please be aware of this. We can request permission from the school to extend our licence hours in the evenings during school holidays.

The bar is an essential part of the club fund raising. It is our only consistent area of income so it is vital that we protect it by safe and responsible operation of it.

If there are any questions please feel free to get in touch. Any feedback is always welcome.

Kind Regards,

Phil
