Women's Squash Week

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S SQUASH WEEK 19-26 September 2021 - We are hosting 2 events!

G’day fellow members and a special welcome to anyone who’s joined over the past year or more! I hope to get to meet you all soon.

In the meantime I need your help to advertise women’s squash week.

As a club we are absolutely committed to being friendly and inclusive. We have a thriving junior section, 16 internal leagues and 8 competitive external league teams. However, it’s painfully obvious that we have very few female members and that a lot more men are playing squash than women in general.

Prior to Covid 19 we introducing (and reintroducing) more and more women to squash through regular Ladies and Squash 101 introductory nights. These were both a huge success with numbers exceeding 20 each time and our female membership was steadily increasing as well.

So women’s squash week has come at just the right time as Covid restrictions now allow us to host social events.

So what can YOU do to help?

1. Share the poster above and details of these two events with everyone you know. Friends, partners, daughters, mothers, sisters etc....

2. Make sure you let people know it’s absolutely for them as we cater for all abilities. Tell them that at every women’s event so far we have had a few people who have never played squash before.

3. Tell them they can bring someone else along too:
- the Sunday morning coffee and cake is for all ages, so get the junior girls inviting their mums, grandmas, aunties, sisters, etc..

- the Friday night event is age 15+ and women often bring friends

4. Make sure they know to contact me to register via mobile on 07854 544732 or email at tracywp@btinternet.com

It’s all about giving women and girls a chance to have a go at squash or reconnect with it in a fun and social way.

Take a look at England Squash’s promotional video too at https://youtu.be/GwlxoJHOrKI

Take care all, and have a good one.
