SSC: Bar Update

SSC Members,

We hope you are all doing well and enjoying your squash!

Summer league seems a distant memory now as we start our Winter League and Cup programme externally and our internal leagues start for October.

We want to email today to bring to your attention some changes in the bar area.

The first you will have noticed is the new point-of-sale “till” which allows you to pick the products you are purchasing, adding the prices up for you automatically. The card reader still works in the same way as the old one did, just hold your card against it for contactless or insert and enter your PIN number if required.

Please ensure you always use the system when paying by cash, selecting the cash payment option to record the sale for stock reduction.

The second addition is the introduction of a CCTV camera behind the bar. This has recently been installed with the intention of keeping the bar area safe and exclusively for our members. Posters will be going up shortly to inform you of its installation. This only covers our bar area.

One of the many benefits of introducing the new point-of-sale bar till is so we can reconcile stock. Richard Green recently took the reins of the bar and has made a hugely positive impact on its running and management. As you will aware we rely on people to remember what they are purchasing and use till accordingly.

Unfortunately we have to report that since the introduction of this machine and monthly stocks checks being completed, the bar is significantly down by around £200 worth of stock. With this in mind, we would encourage anyone that may have forgotten to pay in the past to settle up next time they are in and take care when using the till in future to ensure we can reconcile the stock we purchase accurately.

The bar is the clubs main source of income and as such we want to ensure the club take the full benefit of this revenue stream.
