SSC: Hello from our new Chairman

Now that the post-xmas lull is over and we are back into our internal and external squash league programme, it felt like an appropriate time to introduce myself and say hello!

Although I'm into my 6th year as a member, those who I have played against will know that I am far from the perfectly coached player, however I love the buzz of running around the court chasing after that little black ball.

I live local to the club with my wife Jodi and children Esme and Max, whilst my eldest daughter Jae moved out some time ago to start her own family (yes I was made a grandad as the dear old age of 36!) and lives just a mile down the road with her fiancé Emile and son Karter. Max and Esme are both members at the club, with Max the more keen of the two and the happy recipient of exceptional junior coaching from our coaching team.

I would like to personally say a huge thank you to the committee and Rob Nayman for approaching me for the role, it is an honour and a privilege, and I hope that the committee and I can help the club move forward over the coming years.

My goals as Chairman working with the committee are as follows:

To invest in our junior and ladies programming
Ensure we offer as much squash as possible to our members
Invest in our club & member community
Improve communication between the committee and members
Build a sustainable future for our club

Having met with the school and committee last week, I am keen on sharing a summary of our committee meetings with members, so you will be able to find a copy of our January meeting summary attached.

Due to commitments and the February half term, our next meeting will take place on Sunday 5th March, so if you would like any points added to the agenda, above and beyond those points addressed in the January meeting, please contact a member of the committee or myself directly.
